On Fridays, kidsPACK provides children with a backpack of nutritious food to sustain them on weekends when they do not have access to subsidized school meals. About kidsPACK

kidsPACK has served over 300,000 meals so far, and this non-profit organization is supported by community leaders, corporate sponsors, and volunteers. Partnering with 13 churches, 17 corporate organizations and over 1,300 volunteers, kidsPACK provides meals in 70 Polk County schools on the weekend to help combat hunger. 

How Subaru Lakeland Helps

Subaru Lakeland is proud to support this outstanding cause through the Subaru Share the Love event. In April of 2022, our Florida Subaru dealer made a generous donation totaling more than $31,000. This amount was able to completely cover the cost of weekend meals for 75 students in need at Jesse Keen Elementary for the entire 2022-2023 school year. According to Lisa M. Gill, Title 1 Parent & Family Engagement at Jesse Keen Elementary, "Due to kidsPACK, last year we were able to improve our student attendance ratio for students on the program who knew they would have food for the holidays and weekends!"

Over the last 13 years, through the Subaru Share the Love Event, Subaru of America Inc. and its participating retailers have donated more than $200 million to charity, with customers choosing between four national charities and over 1,610 hometown charities. Subaru Lakeland, Subaru South Tampa, and Subaru North Orlando have donated close to $400,000 combined over the last few years alone.

How You Can Help

When shopping at our Florida Subaru dealer, you can choose your donation when you purchase a new Subaru during the Share the Love event. Throughout the year, you can also provide a one-time or ongoing donation to support children in need. Just $25 will feed one child every weekend for a month. You can make your donation online, or sign up to volunteer with the organization.
